Adalyn's Recital

My little Ada had her Christmas recital tonight. Pretty cute little thing if I do say so myself.

St. Patrick's Day

Every year for the past 6 or so years, we have had a St. Patrick's Day party at our house. There is always green food, games, and a pot of gold for the kids to find at the end of a tricky treasure hunt. I really enjoy it since green is my very most favorite color, and it is fun to see the kids figure out their riddles. Love it!

San Francisco

In March T.J. and I decided to take a trip just the two of us... it had been quite some time since we had been anywhere without our kiddos. San Francisco sounded like a great place to try since neither of us had ever been there, and it was close to where my sister Jamie lives so we would get to visit her. Although it took a while for our discounted airline to get off the ground, we finally took off and then landed safely in the Oakland Airport. I figured public transportation was the way to go since it was only $3.00 to get us from the airport to close to our hotel. So we took the B.A.R.T. and I was taking pictures just like my Momma taught me to do. T.J. was not happy about it since he did not want to look like an easy target tourist for the thugs in the very back of the train. However, we arrived safe and sound, walked the six blocks to our hotel and then ventured out for some wonderful pizza for our dinner.

I insisted we ride on a trolley and again took pictures against my
loving husband's will. I had to have proof that we had been there!
We spent the first day touring the city again with the help of the fantastic public transportation services. We took a bus out to the pier and toured all there was to see. I especially loved the Ghirradelli Chocolate Factory and decided my favorite sample was definitely the Sea Salt Caramel Chocolate! (Discovered once I got home that Walmart charges much less for Ghirradelli Chocolate than the factory in San Fransisco does!)

Sushi and OCTOPUS!

We got to try lots of yummy food on our trip, but our favorite was the sushi! We decided to try the octopus and actually ended up ordering more cause we liked it so much! One morning we had breakfast in China Town at a little bakery and had these yummy little pies. They were actually pretty delish! Juan and Jamie also took us to a couple of really great restaurants that we enjoyed quite a lot.

Proof that we were at the Golden Gate Bridge!

Thanks to Juan for driving T.J. to this fantastic gaming store in the city, T.J. spent a good chunk of cash and Draeven got a couple new models to paint. I think that may have been T.J.'s favorite part of the trip!

We really enjoyed seeing the city, but were grateful to Juan and Jamie for taking us out on the last day to see this beautiful beach. We walked for a long way just listening to the waves and finding shells and rocks to take home to our cute kids. Although it was good to get away, that was the day I started missing them, thinking about how much fun they would have had playing on that beach. Good thing that was our last day there. ;-)

After another ride on the B.A.R.T., more flight delays, and changing planes, we finally arrived home to our beautiful children who didn't want to come home after having such a fantastic time at Grandma and Grandpa Deene's House. Such a relief to know they were in good hands!

Bear Claw Pin

Draeven earned his Bear Claw pin by going to the back mountain and following his instructor, Grandpa, down the Bear Claw Hill at Sundance. Ethan had his back and followed him doing turns the whole way down.

Afterwards T.J. got enough courage to try Bear Claw himself!
